John Francis was born in 1812 to James and Elizabeth Francis in Bristol, England.
Ann Rogers was born in 1811 to William and Hannah Rogers in Bristol.
Rose Hannah Titley was born in 1819 to Samuel and Mary Titley in Wednesbury, West Midlands, England.

John and Ann married in Bristol. She died a few years later.

In 1856, the family joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and hosted church meetings in their home.
In 1862, Mary Ann (age 20) and John (age 18) immigrated to Utah. John got sick along the trail, in Echo Canyon, and died before reaching Salt Lake.
In 1866, Samuel (age 18) and Elizabeth (age 15) followed their siblings to Utah.

In 1869, John and Hannah, along with Sarah (age 15), Joseph (age 12), and Rose Jr. (age 9), traveled by ship from Liverpool to New York. They stayed for at least 9 months in Brooklyn before continuing the journey to Utah.
By 1880, John and Rose were living on their own in American Fork.
Descendants
- Mary Ann, Sarah, and their families lived for about 10 years in American Fork, and later settled in Salt Lake County.
- Samuel, Joseph, and their families settled in Lake Shore. In his later life, Samuel moved to Alberta, Canada.
- Elizabeth and her family settled in Manti.
- Rose Jr. and her family settled in American Fork.
