Red was drafted into the National Guard in 1941. Kirk was born three months later during training in California.
When Red deployed, Alta and Kirk returned to Utah, living at 335 S Main St, Spanish Fork.
After military service, the family lived at 250 W 100 S in Spanish Fork. Red worked as a truck driver for McCord Oil Company and American Oil Company. The family remained in Spanish Fork.
Alta had cancer and died in 1992. Red died the same day.
